In other news, I had a haircut today. I was planning on doing something drastic (e.g. going from several inches below the shoulder to above the shoulder). I told the stylist that my only guideline was that I was still able to pull the hair back in a ponytail since I run. I think she interpreted this to mean, "I want my hair to look good in a ponytail," because she talked me into keeping it a little longer (about an inch below the shoulder). She said if it were shorter it would look all chunky and funny when pulled up. I don't care what the ponytail looks like! I'm running! In the end, it's a great cut (and she's right, it makes a totally cute ponytail) but I think next time I'm going to keep my mouth shut and just tell her to chop it off. I was reading Audrey's blog and realized if it got too short for a ponytail I could always do pigtails! Cute!
This is what Mario thinks about 2.5 mi runs and haircuts:
Wave your paws in the air! Wave them like you just don't care!

Mario is crashed! That's what I do after a long run, without the hands in the air bit.
I got a haircut yesterday! Omg, and I had the same thought about the length. It's shoulder length now but still able to tie in a ponytail. I lost 10" yesterday. But needed a bit of a makeover!
High five, Mario!!
That is a freakin' cute picture of Mario!
And speaking from experience, it really does suck to have hair that is short but looks crappy in a ponytail. The pieces sometimes fall out or you have to clip extra bits back. I can't wait for mine to grow out!
I bet your hair looks grrrrreat!
Rabbits always tell the truth, if you can figure out what they are saying.
Yay for your great 2.5 miler! Ugh, I can sympathise with you...I'm getting winded going up the stairs right now, but I have a half marathon tomorrow. Not sure how that is going to go, but fingers crossed this darn cold leaves my body by the end of the day today and I am all better tomorrow!
Oh my dear, Mario looks totally pooped...and look at the tiny cute mouf!!
Yeah, pigtails are great! :) I agree, being able to pull your hair back somehow is key!
I agree with D. Moll there. Mario has exactly the answer. What was the question?
About this fitness business ... I guess it is slow and steady wins .. a few 2 1/2s .. then maybe a 4 ... then a 3 and another 3 and then a 5 .... enough to see progress without overdoing and then getting hurt or ovwrworked.
YAY for haircuts!!! i almost chopped mine off before SFM but its just getting longer and longer (a couple inches from my waist now!)... one of these days i will cut it off :) maybe
Ha, I had the same requirement about the length of my hair when I got it cut: Must be able to still make a ponytail for running :-)
