Monday Mario

I have no good reasons, just lame excuses for my sad abscence from blogging.  Mario's even been getting "where are you?" pings (sadly no one seemed to worry where I was, ha ha).  Thanks to everyone who missed his furry face.  I'm making a committment to getting back on schedule here and catching up with all of your blogs, too.

As an olive branch for my delay, I present to you the elusive bunny yawn:

A quick eye update:  This photo was taken probably over a month ago.  I did a course of two different antibiotics for about a month and there was pretty much no difference in Mario's weepiness.  I'm pretty sure this isn't an infection.  He's eating normally (on both sides of his mouth), is a chunky monkey and interested in all food, comes out and binkies and runs around at night.  Bottom line, he is 100% himself.  I realized he's had this issue off and on (obviously more on the last few months) for almost a year and I think if it was something sinister like an abscess or strange tooth growing something else would be off by now.

I felt that the weepiness seemed to improve when on the ointment mainly because of the vehicle vs. the medication so am currently treating his eye like dry eye.  I can't rationalize putting him under anesthesia for x-rays when he seems so happy for something I've realized is fairly long standing.

And who wouldn't miss seeing such a cute furry face? Glad to hear he's 100% Mario.

FINALLY!
We've been worrying about Mario. (And you too!) That's so strange about his eye, but I agree if it was an infection it would be way worse by now.
Keep the buns pics comin'!

I love bunny yawns! Too bad I never seem to have a camera in hand when one happens around here.

Bored Mario - enough with the eye he says!

Worried maybe you started out on a run and couldn't stop.

The same thing that's going on with Mario's eye happened to my chinchilla, Winky (hence the name). It never cause anything serious. The vet said that it's possible for a blocked tear duct and to message the area to try to move the blockage. It didn't work for Winky, he just always looked a little sad on one side of his face, but it never bothered him.

Oh, tired lil Mario! Does he want to see The Lion King in 3D too? :)

(I've been bad at commenting, so I forgive you for being bad at blogging!)
