Celebrate

This picture has nothing to do with the post, except that this is one of my favorite things about the holiday season, running-wise. Yummers. I am sadly almost all out, though.

Thanks so much, everyone for all of the nice words! For the bunny crowd, "PR" stands for "Personal Record" which means your fastest time for a given distance. And I'm glad everyone loved Mario in the duck hat. When I was taking the photo, Boyfriend said, "I can't believe you're going to embarrass him like that." Ha ha.

Just a quick note to say I am headed to Orlando soon to attempt to complete my third Goofy Challenge (half marathon on Saturday, full marathon on Sunday). I am not planning on running at all in between Texas and Disney so if anything is horribly tweaked I won't know it 'til the gun goes off on Saturday. My legs/knee feels pretty good so I am hopeful things will be okay. As usual, the Disney races are all about carrying my camera and having a lot of fun.

The Disney Marathon on Sunday is a special event for me. It falls exactly on my 6 year Marathoniversay. I ran the Disney Marathon on January 9th, 2005 as my very first marathon. Not only that, but I ran an obscene number of marathons this past year in order to make Disney 2011 my 26th marathon (if not for that, I would have stopped at 12 marathons in one year last year -- decided to tack on a few more to make it my 26th).

So Disney 2011 is really a celebration for me; A celebration of this past "year" -- 16 marathons, two PR's; A celebration of how far I've come in my running; And a celebration of how much joy this sport has brought to my life (including all of you out there).

I've preloaded some posts and will catch you all on the other side of 39.3 miles!

Good luck at Goofy and happy Marathoniversary :). I have a number for friends doing the Goofy Challenge and they tried with all their might to convince me. One day, one day.
